Baking Cookies

Elsa and I had a wonderful time learning to bake Danish Christmas Cookies. We baked 3 types of cookies and made some marzipan balls dipped in dark chocolate.


















Quote:
Children Cookies

En portion:
375 g mel
½ reven muskatnød
175 g smør/margarine
½ tsk potaske
180 g farin
1 æg
Eventuel kardemomme, ingefær, nellike

Mel og muskatnød blandes, fedtstoffet smuldres heri. Potasken røres ud i lidt koldt vand og kommes i sammen med sukker og æg. Dejen æltes let sammen og hviler før den anvendes.
Bagetid ca. 10 min. ved 180 grader.
Kan pyntes med glasur og/eller chokoladeknapper

One portion:
375 g flour
½ grated nutmeg
175 g butter / margarine
½ teaspoon potash
180 g brown sugar
1 egg
possible cardamom, ginger, cloves

Mix flour and nutmeg. Crumble the butter with the flour and nutmeg. Add potash (stirred off in a little cold water) sugar and egg. Knead dough lightly together and let it rest before it is used.
Baking time approx. 10 min. at 180 degrees.
Can decorate with frosting and / or chocolate buttons



Vanillekranse

En portion (ca. 100 stk.)
250 g. hvedemel
1/8 tsk. Bagepulver
4 tsk. Vanille
125 g. flormelis
50 g. smuttede, finthakkede mandler
250 g. smør

Dej: Mel, bagepulver, vanille og flormelis sigtes sammen. Mandlerne blandes i. Smørret snittes fint og æltes sammen med melet. Dejen køres gennem kødmaskinen – og stykkerne formes til vanillekranse.
Bagetid: ca. 8 min. V. 185 grader.


One portion (about 100 pcs.)
250 g. flour
1 / 8 teaspoon Baking powder
4 teaspoon Vanilla
125 grams icing sugar
50 gram blanched, finely chopped almonds
250 grams butter

Dough: Flour, baking powder, icing sugar and vanilla together. Almonds is mixed in. The butter is chopped finely and knead with the flour. The dough is shaped as vanillekranse.
Baking time: approx. 8 min. V. 185 degrees.



Jødekager

En portion ca. 75 stk.
250 g mel
150 g smør
100 g sukker
1 æg

Pensling:
Æg, kanelsukker

Findel fedtstoffet i melet og bland sukkeret i. Tilsæt ægget og ælt dejen hurtigt sammen. Sæt dejen køligt en halv time, før den udrulles til en tynd plade.
Udstik dejpladen i små runde dejkager, 5-6 cm i diameter, pensl kagerne med sammenpisket æg og drys med kanelsukkeret.
Bag dem ved 200 grader i 6-8 min.

100 g sugar

Brushing:
Eggs, cinnamon sugar

Put the butter in small pieces in the flour and mix. Add the sugar. Add the egg and knead the dough quickly. Put the dough in a cool half hour before it rolled into a thin plate.
Form the dough in small round pieces, 5-6 cm in diameter, brush with mixed egg and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Bake them at 200 degrees for 6-8 minutes.

Form marcipanen i små kugler og dyp dem i smeltet varm chokolade.
Eller put en hel mandel i den ene halvdel og dyp den nederste halvdel i chokolade.


Marzipan
Chokolate (melted over water)
Almonds

Shape the marzipan into small balls and dip them in melted hot chocolate.
Or put a whole almond in half and dip the bottom half in chocolate.
