Happy Bunnies

Today is the first day of the Chinese New Year.

The Chinese New Year is celebrated as the symbol of spring's celebration. In fact, in China it is still called the Spring festival. It is celebrated after the fall harvest and before the spring planting season. The date of the Chinese New Year is always changing and is dependant on the Chinese calendar.

This year, it's the year of the Rabbit, and we would normally be spending this time visiting our Chinese friends partaking of their various delicious foods, prepared for sharing, in their traditional 'open house' celebrations.

But another reason why we always look forward to this date is because Elsa was born on the first day of the Chinese New Year back in 1996. She was born in the year of the Golden Rat. It was supposed to be an auspicious year according to the Chinese calender and astrology; and for us that was indeed the case; as we have a lovely, bubbly, kind and generous person that never fails to cheer us up...

To celebrate the occasion, the birthday girl had....
