My little Cupcake

Spent the day with Elsa.
No, she's not in school...
It seems that today is a holiday for all students in ISA, for some reason of Teacher In-Service... nope, no idea what that means whatsoever.

Thought it would be a good idea to spent the day baking with Elsa... something she could bring over to her friend's when she's off on a sleepover date with them tonight.
I foresee, they won't be doing much sleeping tonight, what with the sugar overload and their endless natttering... Bliss it is to be alive, but to be young is heaven.

We decided on a ChocOrange cupcakes and the Red Velvet cupcakes - something for their post-Valentine giddiness.

For the ChocOrange cupcakes, we're using a basic butter cake recipe and added orange zest, orange juice and lots of dark chocolate nibs into the mixture.

Stay away from the cupcakes!!

Red Velvet Cupcakes
recipe adapted from

70 g butter
180 g  sugar
1 large egg
140 ml buttermilk
15 ml red food coloring
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
9 ml distilled white vinegar
150 g flour
15 g unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt

Yields about 20 paper baking cups.

Very funny, Elsa.
Yeah, a couple of days ago, my nose did resemble one!!
