I made a big batch of red velvet cupcakes and triple chocolate brownies for Elsa's bake sale in school.
Was too tired to write a lot more earlier but after a good one hour of zumba session at a local club, I felt a lot better.
Elsa came home bearing news that the red velvet (with cream cheese frosting) and the brownies were all sold out and received some very favourable feedback.
Next, a floral arrangement for tomorrow's lunch at the school...
Yes, I was asked to do a centre piece for the Parents Appreciation Lunch buffet table...
whad'ya know, finally some recognitions this way come!
Funnily enough, it was hard to find flowers, especially the one I wanted.
It's spring, for heaven's sake, there should be flowers abundance.
I blame it on the unfavourable weather we've been getting lately. Some part of England suffered from drought in the earlier part of the year and now they're having too much rain. At least Scotland is quite consistent with its weather... wretched throughout!
My initial plan was a warm orange/purple floral arrangement with peonies taking the centre stage.
But, it was not to be...
All I could find was loads of tiny dianthus and chrysanthemums, not exactly my favourite.
I had to go through more than a couple of flower shops in order to find flowers within the set budget.
Finally, I settled on these flowers and have to change the colour scheme to a more subtle and cooler colours
soft pink scented stock
Added some foliage from my garden; climbing hydrangea, corkscrew hazel, Alchemilla mollis and Fatsia Japonica
Just realised how heavy the arrangement was when I moved it to a different corner.
It's gonna be a nightmare transporting it tomorrow...
