We celebrated the school's 40th anniversary last Saturday.
The PTO organised its annual fundraising event to coincide with this
Not sure why they chose "Back to the Seventies - Flower Power" as its theme
perhaps, to bring some colour to the bleak mid-winter
Because no party is complete without some kind of large, inflatable object -
in this case, that magnificent beast of a bouncy castle.
The little ones LOVED it.

The cake competition entries
They usually have some kind of competition at this fundraiser every year,
and this year was definitely no exception.
Since the whole event had a birthday feel to it, with the balloons and the decorations,
the competition was cake-themed.
Ideas ranged from the more traditional type of cake to the more artsy.
My mom has never been fond of working shifts;
note the gleeful look on her face when she has finally been allowed to go home.
