Ayam Percik Kelantan

Another scorcher!
It was a balmy sunny 23˚C... and yes, we're still in Aberdeen
It's the perfect weather for grilling and having lunch alfresco

For the most part of the last two years, the barbecue was left unused and steadily gathering a rather thick layer of dust. So, before the weather turns (or normalises) I better get my 2 year's worth of barbecuing.

And we're having a traditional east coast fare - that'll get my neighbour's two dogs howling!

Ayam Percik Kelantan
Grilled Chicken in thick Coconut Gravy Kelantan-stylie

8 pcs chicken thighs, deboned and skinned
6 shallots
1 small knob fresh ginger
salt and sugar

In a food processor, blend shallots and ginger with a little coconut milk and water 'til fine.
Marinate the chicken pieces for a few hours, preferably overnight.
Arrange the chicken pieces on the grill and grill until golden brown.

For the gravy:

250ml coconut milk
1/2 tsp shrimp paste
1 tbsp tamarind juice
2 lemongrass
6 shallots
2 garlic
1 small knob ginger
1 tbsp rice flour (optional)
salt and sugar

Blend shallots, garlic and ginger. Place the blended ingredients into a pot along with the rest of the other ingredients and bring to boil over low heat.
If needed, add rice flour and water mixture into the sauce to thicken.
Remove from heat.

  2. Ayam percik tu sungguh sexy.

Tapi yang lebih seksi ialah "dress" itu.

I have the same dress but mine is long dress. Hahaha we have the same taste with a different twist.

So, it goes. I like ayam percik kuah pedas

Selagi muat, my baju raya always recycle one. Biaq pi-la orang buat style baru, cheq masih dengan classic baju kurung. Badan naik ka, badan turun ka, okay saja :)
Aww... thanks for the compliment, dear, tumpang gigi dok elok lagi, baik kita senyum puas-puas. It doesn't cost anything and it makes people happy.
Elsa is my one and only... alhamdulillah.
