Gardening Fest - The Show Gardens

A weekend outing...
We decided to make our way
to the annual garden exhibition in Edinburgh
in spite of the bad weather

The Show Gardens

"Natural Time Garden"
West of Scotland Dry Stone Walling Association

"A Japanese/Scottish (In)Fusion Garden"
Dundee and Angus College
A garden where a refined Japanese influence is off-set by a bit of Scottish humour.
The focus of this display is the traditional Japanese tea house
where both Japanese and Scottish tea drinking habits will be displayed and enjoyed.

"Art in the Garden"
New Hopetoun Gardens
A garden for displaying art to be viewed from the house and from within the garden.
It is decorated with stylish carefree plants which are undemanding and easy to look after

"A Cryptogrammic Journey from Edinburgh to Logan"
Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh

"In the Knitted Garden"
Many plants yield fibres; used for centuries in textiles.
This garden highlights some of these plants and explores and celebrates
weaving and knitting as an art form in a garden context.

"The Readers Imagination Garden"
The garden encourages literacy and creative thinking.
Set in a woodland glade, taking inspiration from works of literature and Writer's garden
it features a Chesterfield chair on a turntable, an outdoor library
and a still pool reflecting images of the sky bringing this vast imaginative space down to earth

Love The Plot You've Got
The Entertaining Garden
The Edible Garden
The Balcony Garden
The Container or Portable Garden

"Rest and Relaxation"
using plants and natural landscape products to create a garden of absolute tranquility
using natural scents, colours and sounds of a range of plants
to ensure the garden both delights and relaxes all year round

"The Ultimate Allotment"

If there's one thing I could take away from this exhibition
this would be it ~
the ultimate all-weather BBQ Hobbit house!
