Going Japanese

The east is made up of so many cultures
very unique and diverse
So when the opportunity came up to sample the Japanese culture here in Aberdeen
we simply couldn't refuse!

Japan Day is an annual event organised to celebrate and recognise heritage
of the Japanese culture past and present

Activities include taiko drumming, Japanese songs, ikebana demonstrations,
calligraphy, origami, tea ceremony, martial arts demonstrations and more.

These two kendo experts look great in their costume!

The taiko drummers were a definite highlight
Their enthusiasm on stage made me want to take up the instrument too
Wait until my debut stage, everyone~

Elsa decided to queue up for a kimono fitting
Kawaii!

Finally, we decided to check out the cosplay costumes, including a Pokemon hunter, Kiki from Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service, and many more.

The attention to detail and hard work that they all put in was incredible
The effort definitely paid off!
